Portarlington travelled to the Centre of Excellence to face Portlaoise in the u13 development County final.

The game started at a frantic pace with Portlaoise scoring back to back goals to take the early lead. They continued to attack with Portarlington defending in numbers to try and stall the Portlaoise assault.

The second half seen Portarlington mount a strong come back with Patrick Emerson firing to the back of the net. Portarlington now started to push forward looking for more scores.

It was the turn of Portlaoise to defend with Portarlington starting to add scores through the boot of Sean Connolly.

Portarlington continued to press forward and they tried for goals on a few occasions but unfortunately they were not able to hit the target through a number of strong blocks by the Portlaoise defense.

Great determination was shown by Portarlington where they pushed hard to the final whistle and showed great character to continue to work hard as a team up to the very end.
