Our U13 Development Footballers travelled to Kilcavan GAA last Saturday evening for their third Development game.
Portarlington won the throw in and as they advanced Kilcavan The Rock applied pressure and regained control of the ball. Both teams contested the game evenly and Port were the first to break the score line with a well moved point from play. Kilcavan The Rock responded well and popped over two easy points after breaking through Ports defence. Port switched up a gear and advanced to clock up another three points. Kilcavan The Rock replied with a run down the wing and placed a lovely high ball into the Port goal mouth, resulting in a goal. With seven minutes left in the first half and the scoreline drawn, Ports determination gained them another point just before the end of the first half,
bringing a half time scoreline of Port 0.07, Kilcavan The Rock 1.03 (6).
The second half team talk was taken on board by the Port lads, and they switched up another gear to claim a further eight points by the forwards and a goal by the Captain on the day Eoin Loftus which brought the final score to Portarlington 1.15 (18), Kilcavan The Rock 1.07 (10).
A good performance by all the lads and a very enjoyable game to watch.
